Found steady work and a good commute

Portland, OR • Hired at ProBuild

Meshach signed up for WorkStep and was hired as a Sawyer at ProBuild in December 2017. He’s previously worked at Daystar Construction and Anning Johnson.

What were you looking for in a new job?

I was looking for a carpentry job with steady work (around 40 hours a week) that I could get to on the MAX line or by bike.

How did you like using WorkStep?

All-in-all, it was a good experience. The results came in quick—either I was eligible for a job or I wasn’t, and I liked that. It was fast too—only took 3 or 4 days for me to hear back from ProBuild about interviewing.

How do you like this job?

I like it a lot. It meets all my expectations about what I wanted to be doing, and I like the team and management. ProBuild was also willing to hire me about a month before the position was fully ready, which is great.

“This job [Sawyer] is exactly what I was looking for. Through WorkStep, ProBuild moved really fast, and actually hired me a month before the position was fully ready, just to lock me down.”
