Engaging with WorkStep
Historically, GPI’s Production Leadership & HR team had not been able to find qualified applicants with previous manufacturing experience. Not only was it frustrating to not find qualified people for openings, but it also led to a strain on their manufacturing workforce while roles remained open.
WorkStep engaged with Katie Muldoon, Ted DeHaan, and their teams to understand current staffing shortages, candidate preferences, and their ] interview process. Together a strategy was created to locate candidates with machine operator experience and willing to work their monthly rotating schedules. WorkStep was able to provide qualified candidates daily that had previous operator experience with stable work history, resulting in reduced time to fill for their openings and improvements in retention. The intelligent applicant screening and the platform's ease of use lead to adoption with minimal training and time investment.
Because the partnership between the two companies proved scalable success and improved retention across multiple facilities in the first year, since, there has been substantial growth, with WorkStep now supporting dozens of GPI facilities across the country.
