HVACR Certificate and Degree Pathways

Diablo Valley College's Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) Program is a great option for anyone who is interested in a hands-on career as a residential, commercial, or industrial HVACR mechanic and installer. After completing the program, you will have the skills and knowledge necessary for your success in the industry. Our HVACR Program offers: an associate in science degree - HVACR a certificate of achievement - HVACR a certificate of accomplishment - HVACR. In collaboration with the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 159 and Plumbers, Steamfitters, Refrigeration (HVACR) Union Local 342, DVC offers a five-year apprenticeship program in HVACR. Apprentices earn a wage while learning, and are often able to continue into a full time position once the program is complete. You can learn more about the requirements for the degree, certificate, and apprenticeship in our catalog. We know that navigating degree requirements can be tricky. Once you have enrolled at DVC, you can schedule and appointment with a counselor to discuss which option is best for you. HVACR certificates and degrees are generally not intended for transfer. If you are planning on transferring, it is important you meet with a program adviser or counselor to make sure transfer requirements are met.
