Coordinating QC technicians, maintaining the food safety program, and maintaining the lab and inventory, among other duties.
Duties include:
Coordinating QC Technicians:
- Overseeing and train new or less experienced QC technicians.
- Creating a monthly work schedule for the QC/QA department.
- Training production employees and newly hired personnel with general education regarding the food industry, HACCP monitoring, SSOP, and GMP.
- Coordinating the completion of projects assigned to the QC technicians.
- Preparing reports related to current quality issues including those related to the on-hold products, environmental swabbing, pre-operational, and operational inspections.
- Performing other tasks related to Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities.
Maintain Food Safety Program:
- Reviewing, modifying, and maintaining the HACCP program with Manager’s approval.
- Implementing QC/QA program changes in the plant.
- Monitoring raw material receiving program and supplier approval process.
- Participating in pre-operational and operational audits.
- Carrying outline checks and all verification processes.
- Verifying all critical control points and control points of all processes in accordance with plant HACCP and GMP programs.
- Assisting in monitoring of raw material and finished product specifications; maintain and report raw material and finished goods “HOLD” tag logs.
- Carry-out microbiological and chemical analytical tests on finished foods, environmental and other contact surfaces.
- Assisting in reviewing pre-shipment approval documentation.
- Completing all paperwork accurately and timely.
- Tasting test for sensory evaluation of finished goods.
- Complying with all company policies and procedures.
Maintain Lab and Inventory:
- Controlling product ordering and keep to department budget.
- Maintaining lab equipment and arrange for the repair and calibration of any defective equipment.
- Maintaining the daily operations of the lab.
- Maintaining and update lab SOPs.
