Manufacturing Academy

The Manufacturing Academy™, sponsored by the Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee (AJAC), offers a solid foundational career pathway into aerospace and advanced manufacturing apprenticeship opportunities. This 10-week recognized pre-apprenticeship program is currently offered in Seattle, Tacoma, and Kent locations. Manufacturing Academy™ students will learn both soft skills and technical skills to include but not limited to applied math, assembly, introductory machining, blueprint reading, welding, interview techniques, and industry tours with AJAC partnering companies. Upon completion, students will have the basic foundational skills to find gainful entry-level employment and may meet the minimum qualifications to pursue additional career pathways in advanced manufacturing through AJAC’s portfolio of apprenticeship programs.

The Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee (AJAC) is a non-profit, state-funded aerospace and advanced manufacturing registered apprenticeship organization founded on the belief that mastery occurs on the job. Through apprenticeship preparation, and registered apprenticeships for youth and adults, all people have the opportunity to earn competitive wages, find meaningful work and pursue lifelong learning. AJAC currently serves 250 employers and nearly 350 apprentices across eight high-demand occupations in Washington State. AJAC offers a suite of career and educational pathway programs to better develop and grow a skilled workforce for the aerospace and advanced manufacturing industries. These programs are driven by employer need, based on industry demand and future needs as technology drives new, innovative products.
